Families come out to celebrate Fathers’ Day
The Jason Roberts Foundation and Father Figure joined forces to host a Family Fun Day at Stonebridge Pavilion on Fathers’ Day and children from the local area brought their Dads’ (and some Mums’ too) along to celebrate Fathers’ Day together.
Music helped to provide a festival atmosphere to the day and children enjoyed other activities including crafting; face painting and some sat in the barber’s chair for a haircut!
The Fun Day was the first “Sport for All Day” delivered by the Jason Roberts Foundation as part of their new Family Health & Fitness Programme, funded by the Premier League & PFA Community Fund and was also a celebration of Father Figure’s first anniversary. Father Figure is a network and resource for fathers. They promote positive fathering, working with individuals, groups and organisations.
David Mullings from Father Figure said, “This year Father Figure felt it would be great for two local organisations to work together to celebrate fathers. Jason is one of many sports men who grew up in this community however, one of the few who have given something back.
