The Rob Burton Soccer School was set up after parents at a local special educational school expressed an interest in their children playing football. In May 2008 the first session took place and since then, children from 6 and more special and mainstream schools regularly attend.
The sessions follow a similar routine of a group warm-up, then skill work of passing, shooting, teamwork football games, turns and penalty taking. The sessions always finish with small-sided football matches. The games are strictly refereed to emphasise the rules of the game, but more importantly, to give maximum enjoyment and realism to the children.
