Disability Programme

The JRF disability programme targets the Brent’s most marginalised children and young people aged 12-25 years old, many of whom have learning and/or physical disabilities, mental health issues, and health conditions.

With funding from John Lyon’s Charity and Peter Harrison Foundation, we have been able to engage with local schools, referral units and like-minded organisations in Brent to ensure community ownership. Whilst, developing greater community cohesion.

The programme delivers multi-sport sessions on a weekly basis and our primary aims are to increase levels of participation in sport and physical activity, particularly for those from excluded and vulnerable groups.

Thorough this programme, we hope to increase knowledge of the wider benefits of an active lifestyle, and to encourage cohesive communities by highlighting and developing the inclusive values of sport regardless of circumstance.
